Here are a selection of our favourite
restaurants around the area. We would be
delighted to hear from you of your
experiences and to add any new
restaurants you feel should be included.
(Click on the cards for more info if
available)

(Tel 952818961) Avda del Prado s/n. Five
minutes walk. By no stretch of the
imagination can this be classed as a
restaurant but you can get snacks. It is
however the nearest thing to a bar
around here and is open between 16:00 >
03:00. Garth has a good selection of
drinks including Guinness
(Tel 952818858) Avda del Prado s/n. A good 30 minute walk, a taxi is better.
This is a classic high quality Spanish
restaurant. Classic Spanish interior and
a nice ranch style covered terrace for
dining outside. The buey (do it yourself
same as Chateaubriand) is the house
special and you have to try it if you
visit. An excellent selection of good
wines are available.
(Tel 952818262) Avda
Del Prado 4, Aloha (Five minutes walk
from La Maestranza). The
owners Money & Miriam have been here 12 years now and have established a well
deserved reputation for quality food,
perfectly cooked at reasonable prices.
Money specialises in spicy food but also
turns out excellent steaks and other
European dishes. All
food is cooked in an open kitchen and
nothing is too much trouble. The
Bistro enjoys
absolutely stunning views over Las
Brisas golf course from the terraces.
(Tel 952814719). C\ Jazmines, 17 (near
the post office in La Campana). 20
minutes walk.
Without doubt the best Indian food in
the area. Prices are excellent and staff
are always friendly. One draw back is
the size of the restaurant so it´s
always good to book. The restaurant is
not set in solubrious surroundings so it
is a place to go for the food. If you do, you wont be dissapointed. They also have
a small take away / home delivery
situated outside Maestranza so why not
sample on your own terrace. The take
away number is 952811545
(Tel:
952818861) Typical high quality
American style diner. Excellent burgers,
wraps and quick food. Spacious
restaurant and terrace, easy walking
distance (10 mins) located in Centro
Plaza. Ideal for a relaxing long
afternoon or quick dinner.

(Tel
952906070) An ideal place to meet
friends, relax on the terrace and watch
the world go by. Pasta Caffe is part of
a chain here and you can find other
branches in the area. Excellent Pizzas
and a range of Pastas that wont break
the bank.

(Tel:
952813859). Avda del Prado 6, Aloha (5
Minutes walk from La Maestranza). If you
want something a little bit special
during your holiday then you have to
visit El Girasol. Impecable service and
good food.
(Tel: 952905021). C/. Miguel Cervantes
in La Campana (15 mins walk from
Maestranza). If you like meat this is the place for you. The best
Chateaubriand and Sirloin in the area
without doubt. Recently moved premises
to the old "Rubys" bar allowing al
fresco dining in summer. Food is excellent. Try the
lunch time "Menu del Dia" for about 8€
for 3 courses

(Tel 952814529) Edif. La Ruleta, behind
the casino. (15 mins walk from
Maestranza). Very classy and very good
quality Italian restaurant but with an
international menu. The service is
impeccable with occasional live music.
(click on card) Features in the Michelin
2008 guide. An excellent venue for a
special occasion or an enjoyable place
to relax over a traditional Sunday, lunch
~ winter only
(approx 50€ p/head with wine).
Definitely worth a visit.

(Tel
952789921) El Gamonal is situated just
off the Ronda road / AP7 junction in the
direction of La Quinta (10 minutes by
car). Traditional Spanish Kitchen,
superb cuisine good prices and if you
enjoy fish cooked in salt this is the
place for you. The staff are extremely
friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
Well worth a drive or taxi ride.

(Tel
952811740) La Barraca is situated on the
Campana road Avda. Los Girasoles 101,
opposite Open Cor. Again Spanish cuisine
specialising in Paella. You can order a
take away Paella for 3 for about 35Euros
but you need to give at least 1 days
notice. About 15 minutes walk.

(Tel 952817989) Peggottys is a
traditional British fish and chip shop
and believe me these are the best fish
you will ever have tasted. They are
located near to the large old hotel in
La Campana (Torre Andaluz) click on the
card for a menu and map. You can either
eat in or take away but they do not
deliver (yes I know it's an old joke) and close at 11 pm.

(Tel 952811722) Patio Andaluz.
Traditional Spanish, very good food at
competitive prices. An old Villa on the
main Campana road (Avda. Los Girasoles
341,
same as La Barraca) again 15 minutes
walk. Excellent patio for summer
evenings. Set back a little so look
carefully.
(Tel 951968110) We did not really intend
to cover restaurants other than in close
proximity to La Maestranza however this
restaurant just has to be the best place
to go for lunch in Marbella. You get 3
excellent quality courses for only 9
Euros. It can not be beaten for value
for money. German run and owned and
quality. Easy to find, near the sea,
near El Fuerte Hotel and near Avda del
Mar. Take the water taxi to Marbella
spend the morning there and enjoy lunch
here. Can't praise it enough.
